The Essen Farm is an ecological health center established in 2009 by Dr. Zohar Katzir, a biologist and natural hygiene expert. Inspired by the Essenes (Jews who lived during the Second Temple period) who were known for their deep connection to nature, their vegetarian diet and their longevity, dr. Katzir holds retreats of fasting, nutrition and a healthy lifestyle at the farm. The farm team aims to teach and spread the natural hygiene approach in Israel.

The farm is located in the beautiful mountains of Jerusalem- a pastoral area with clear air, surrounded by forests, springs and many historical sites.

Besides the health retreats held under the instruction of Dr. Katzir, the farm also rents its facilities to external facilitators and their workshops.
